 Dr. Marie Alejandrino-Buell
Achieving excellence consistently requires dedication. Dr. Marie
Alejandrino-Buell has close to 20 years experience in providing
state-of-the-art dental care. She is committed to keeping pace with the
exciting new changes in dentistry today by raising patient awareness
while providing the highest standard of care possible in a warm and
caring environment. Dr. Marie Alejandrino-Buell is a graduate of the the
Philippines' premier university, the University of the
Philippines,where only the cream of the crop are admitted as scholars of the state.
Dr. Marie
Alejandrino-Buell is committed to community service. After completing
her dental degree in 1992, she interned as a volunteer at the St.
Martin de Porres Charity Hospital, the birthplace of Operation Smile
International. It was there that she first trained in providing
comprehensive care to the underpriviledged. She worked as part of a
multi-disciplinary team that provided care to people with facial
deformities.
After moving to the United States, she completed the
DECOD Program, a Post-doctoral Fellowship at the University of
Washington, a program that focused on providing care for persons with
disabilities. It was this love for people who were unable to receive
care due to physical, mental and psychological issues that led her to
pursue a relationship with the Dental Organization for Conscious
Sedation (DOCS). This has allowed her to provide care to people who are
afraid of coming to the dentist. Dr. Marie Alejandrino-Buell is one of
the few dentists in California and the US who have a permit to provide Adult Oral Conscious
Sedation in a office setting.
Dr. Marie Alejandrino-Buell actively participates in
advanced continuing dental education programs which provides you with
the most recent technology and procedures in dentistry. She has
participated in the Mastership Series at the Newport Coast Oral-Facial
Institute, one of the leading training and research centers dedicated
to mastering the use of the clinical microscope for all disciplines of
dentistry. She has also participated in the PAC-live Aesthetic
Continuum founded by Dr. William Dorfman of TV's Extreme Makeover fame.
Dr. Marie Alejandrino-Buell is a member in good standing
of the California Dental Association-Santa Barbara-Ventura County
Dental Society, American Dental Association, American Academy of
Cosmetic Dentistry and the Academy of Laser Dentistry. She is also
currently working on both her Fellowhip in the Academy of General
Dentistry as well as Accreditation in the Academy of Cosmetic
Dentistry.
Prior to opening Dental Designs in Oxnard, Dr. Marie
Alejandrino-Buell ran a successful practice in La Jolla, California.
Moving to Ventura County allowed her to be closer to her family.
Together with her husband, Todd, they are raising two beautiful boys.
